  • My husband just came out of the bedroom to tell me that our youngest (who is not yet 3.5) is worried about death. Because she won't be able to see forever and ever, and Mommy will miss her.

I actually did say tell her that I would miss her when she was doing something dangerous. She was downstairs watching a video with her sister, and she came upstairs at one point to ask if volcanoes were dangerous. Then she said she didn't want Bug to go to a place where there were volcanoes.

  • That is so sweet that she doesn't want her sister to go where dangerous volcanoes are! :) It really is fun watching them learn, ask questions, and process all the new stuff in the world that they see and hear. It's humbling to watch them take it all in, and make sense of it and form their own opinions and ideas. Enjoy!

  • I remember being really worried that my younger sister would look at the sun during an eclipse and go blind. I was somewhere in the 5-7 range and I had heard there was an eclipse and you shouldn't look at the sun. So that night in bed I started obsessing about it and I tried to wake her up to tell her not to look at the sun the next day, but she wouldn't wake up. I stayed up for awhile worrying about it and then decided I would tell her the next day. A few days later I realized ithad happened, we hadn't even noticed it, and no one remembered not to look up at the sun, but it wasn't a problem.
